Back in late 1989 on a night out with bunch of guys from my TA unit , we went to a local two girl disco yes they were still called that back then.After a few drinks one of the guys asked " Jimmy you want to dance " " no thanks i replied id rather dance with a girl"
when we saw two girls dancing i said " cmon follow me" i tapped the girl on the shoulder and asked her to dance she nodded and so we did,plucking up the courage to talk i opened with the immortal line " hi whats your name mines really original im a scotsman called Jimmy" Sally she replied and we danced and chatted all night. At the end of the night we exchanged numbers, home phone numbers ( they didnt have mobiles in the dark ages) . I must have done something right because after 4 months i proposed and she said yes making me the happiest guy alive. On the 20th of april 1991 we married at st peters church in Musselburgh.
